Description

A fine quality bentwood Hat and Coat from the early 20th century. Beautifully made with the expertise that the Thonet company perfected in the 19th century, the exquisitely curled branches and decoration has survived in perfect condition. There is no label on this stand, and there were other companies making bentwood furniture at that time, but this stand is probably from one of the main producers, Thonet, Kohn or Mundus, or possibly all three when, in 1923, for a while they merged to form a single company.
