Vintage Saporiti Italia armchair and matching footrest. The design and concept company, which was started in 1950 and is still family owned, specialised in high quality products, each item created and constructed by the company is slightly ahead of its time and is destined to last, both in form and function, until the next era. This armchair and matching footstool, with its label "Made by Fratelli Saporiti, Besnate (Varese) Italy" does have a timelessness to the set. The frame is probably steel, light and flexible, upholstered with fine pale teal leather, the edges piped with contrasting brown leather. Each cushioned part is removable and finished with a zip, allowing the cushion to be replaced. The leather is in fine condition generally, but the piping has suffered deterioration, mostly on the footstool (as shown in the close-up photograph) Comfort and elegance from the 1970s/80s
